Despite denials, Lafazan apparently files for a new Congressional bid

 Enough, Josh.

Day after day, it seems, Nassau Democratic Legislator Josh Lafazan has held a news conference slamming fabulist Republican Congressman George Santos.

And day after day, Lafazan, who lives in his parent's Woodbury basement, has said he was only focused on re-election to his county District 18 legislative seat this year, even though his actions clearly showed he was aiming again for Congress.

Lafazan ran third last year in a Democratic primary for the 3rd Congressional District seat eventually won by Santos, who appears to have lied about his background, education, heritage, finances, you name it. Santos has refused to resign and cannot be removed unless two-thirds of the U.S. House vote to expel him.

With every media outlet in the county writing every detail about Santos, Lafazan has been cited nationally for his pressers.

But former Republican Nassau County Attorney John Ciampoli has blasted Lafazan for using county resources to promote his anti-Santos news conferences, even staging one in the county legislative building. Ciampoli said it is illegal to use taxpayer resources to support any election campaign, whether county, state or federal.

But can Lafazan still deny his intentions? A Nassau progressive today tweeted Lafazan's apparent new filing with the FEC to run for the 3rd District seat again.

Meanwhile Republican Paolo Pironi, who lost a squeaker two years ago against Lafazan for the 18th District legislative seat, has filed complaints with the Nassau District Attorney and the county ethics commission about a mysterious loan Lafazan received from a wealthy North Shore couple in 2020.

Lafazan did not disclose the loan as required by county charter on his county financial disclosure forms until the loan became public during the Congressional primary.
