Blakeman reaches out to Muslims; Solages decries Gaza attacks; pro-Palestine rally planned
Bruce Blakeman Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, the first Jewish county executive, has been outspoken in his support of Israel after the savage butchery of women, children, senior citizens and other civilians by Hamas last Saturday. Blakeman ordered increased police patrols around houses of worship and religious sites in the county, lit up the Old Courthouse dome in Blue and White, and hosted a countywide rally and supply drive in Eisenhower Park to support Israel, an event that drew some 6,000 people. He also reached out to Muslims, saying in a letter, that he believes "the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving.
